I think that this and Often were really great pieces, and yeah, they show that intimate sexuality that you find in the pages of Vogue and other such trashy things (that I secretly adore).

It's also a narcissistic piece (no, I'm not calling you that, though you are very handsome, I'm talking about the art) in the way that a lot of art and artists are, and the homosexual aspect just makes it that much more appealing. Forbidden in many ways, if you will.

I love it, so I encourage a long string of sequels or continuations of the idea.

Me, a writer? I could never be such a thing.
I'm just a fool with words and digits.

Life is like photography.
We need the negatives to develop.

Shit, Aaron, that's incredible. Both the lighting, the pose, and the fact that you're gorgeous . This really is a huge step forward from "Often", which had some flaws in it.
Are you thinking about just using yourself for all the pieces, or are you going to look for other male models?

Comparing the two pieces "Messenger" and "Often," you are more than correct to say that your abilities have matured since the former. The dominant light source has a superior placement in this piece--it would seem to me that the window also puts the dominant boundary in the image, that is to say that the fellow on the left can move away no further, which brings me to the next thoughts.

I think making the two models look slightly different is more effective than how very the same they looked in "Often." The man on the left appears to be the dominant influence: his face is visible and stern, his body mirrors the source of light (the window), and he has got a really big bear backing him up ;). That said, the left man's body language speaks a tease to me. His upper body with his arms out and his chest exposed would seem to invite vulnerability and the right fellow to come closer. However, the left man's legs are twisted away from the right man, shielding 'himself' from the right man. The right man looks almost plaintive: he is on his knees, his arms and legs are all at open angles, and he clutches a substitute for the large bear (furry hat, I believe..).

I agree with Temari-hime in respect to calling it narcissistic. Is the left man engaging in an encounter with the right man for the sake of being with the right man or because the right man so closely resembles him?

For future pieces, I think Temari hit on an important idea, the 'forbidden' aspect of it. And it doesn't even have to be the aspect of homosexuality that gives the forbidden flavor. The dalliance of a committed man, the dominance over an inebriated person, a mixing of classes (mansion owner and pool boy, prince and pauper--if you want to do a period piece :p) I'm a big fan of lighting effects, so perhaps some sort of photo done in the night with a lamp or dropped flashlight or something highlighting a single component would look nice--two hands being held, a kiss, legs intertwined--and have plenty of sexuality thrown in.

Just throwing out an idea that came to me while I was writing, it isn't very heavy with sexuality, though. Perhaps a sort of morning after shot where one of the two is reading from a book or doing some task that makes him oblivious to what the other is doing and the other is looking at him with a face showing adoration and love, a subtle smile and softened eyes.

My (long) two cents. Great Work.

Well, first off, I LOVE STUFFED BEARS!!! :D

That being said... The colors here really are nice and warm...to me that creates a romantic mood. I love the lighting as well.

The expressions are sensual, without being over kill. This is just enjoyable to look at. Nice work!

I'll have to think on some ideas for you....but keep up the good work!

i really like the atmosophere the expression of the left person (i guess both you) creates.. it looks kind of special not.. a little impersonal..

what about making some more diptychs (two pictures together)
details can tell a whole story like a ruffled sheet - closeup next too a complete photograph.. a busy icture next to a peaceful and simple.. not in the same colours maybe.. but contrasting colours.. light and dark and so on..

Oh, Jeebus. That's inredible. Urgh. So much to say about this.
I think I want your MSN, Aaron - Right now I think It'd be better to actually talk about your work instead of writing a novel about it and waiting for you to write the sequel.
What do you think?

wow! i agree with everything everyone has said haha. this is amazing, and your photoshopping skills have improved.

i like jtr's comment about how one of the men looks more dominant than the other- that is very sexual, indeed, if you're tying in with the whole "dominatrix" thing (in a non-creepy way, that is)

as for future ideas dealing with sexuality, you could have two people kissing while holding up a mask to hide it, or a person with a mask moving it to the side to kiss someone else.

like previous people mentioned, "forbidden," and "hidden" seem like good words to get inspiration from.

great work, aaron =)
