Some quick news clippings from me...

1. I opened up a Formspring page after seeing the lively account in use by usagicassidy. It's basically a never-ending interview, so if you have any questions you'd like to ask me about anything, it's quick and easy to post them there either under your name or anonymously. The link to that page is above.

2. The deviant I just mentioned has a funny and finely executed short film called "Cookie Girl', that I recommend you check out. It co-stars one of his very popular young male models and can be found here: www.vimeo.com/11253768

3. I've been informed in advance that snowunmasked will be giving a Daily Deviation to my recent painting, "Ice Cream Mandala" sometime in the next couple weeks, but not sure what the exact date will be. SUPER excited for that!! :)

4. I'm still active on Twitter and Facebook. Those links are above.

5. I'm approaching the 100,000 pageview milestone and getting on the better side of 2,000 watchers. Woohoo! :p

With regard to my watchers, I do feel some nagging concern over the disappoint at my diversion from self-portraits (and photography in general, but particularly the self-portraits) which I understand has provided much of the initial interest in "HisHalfElf"...But when I project into the future as an artist, I expect the investment in photographic self-portraiture to be kind of a binding and insubstantial endeavor if I continue to pursue it with the bulk of my energies. I don't want to pigeonhole myself into self-portraiture as a practice and I'm not particularly interested in being known for it. Fortunately, however, there are a handful of other young men on deviantART that do invest in self-portraiture as their primary output. It is ultimately my desire to be taken seriously as a fine artist and I think the continuing pursuit of self-portrait photography, at least for me, would be dangerous to the integrity of my art process as a whole. However, I do expect to continue producing photographic art down the road in what will probably be a kind of personal-renaissance with regard to that medium. I'm just not sure exactly when that will be.

I want to be more active on deviantART in general as soon as possible. Currently I'm working a job at a coffee shop, working an internship, taking classes (even over the summer), and going through the long but extremely rewarding process of cultivating my abilities as a painter...These are all important priorities for me, but unfortunately I'm not able to give as much focus to other projects as I'd like, including my presence on deviantART and a higher production of art. That will hopefully change in the near future.
